Statement: Central Bank Visitor Centre & Cash Services

12 March 2020 Press Release

Central Bank of Ireland
The Government today announced that Ireland is now introducing a range of new public health measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The fast-moving situation places new demands on us all and the Central Bank is committed to playing its part in limiting the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to follow the advice of the health authorities in Ireland to prioritise the health and safety of all visitors to our premises and our staff.

For this reason we have taken the decision to close our Visitor Centre from Friday 13 March until 29 March 2020.

Members of the public will also not be able to exchange old or damaged banknotes or exchange Irish Pounds in the Central Bank during this period.
