Schools through to Generation €uro Round 2 announced

The Central Bank has announced the schools that have successfully progressed to Round 2 of the Generation €uro Students’ Award for 2015-2016. Over 280 students entered this year’s competition which challenges Transition Year students across Ireland to learn about monetary policy.
The following schools were successful in Round 1:

- Castletroy College
- Colaiste Iosaef
- Colaiste Mhuire Co-Ed
- Glenamaddy Community School
- Glenstal Abbey School
- Jesus and Mary College
- Knockbeg College
- Mercy Secondary School Ballymahon
- Portumna Community School
- Regina Mundi College
- Scariff Community College
- St. Benildus College
- St. Declan's Community College
- St. Gerald’s College
- St. Louis Secondary School
- St. Oliver's Community College
- Summerhill College Sligo
The students will now compete to be crowned National Winners of the competition and represent Ireland at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt next May.

The Generation €uro Students’ Award is a euro area initiative organised by the European Central Bank (ECB) and participating national central banks across the euro area including the Central Bank of Ireland. Further information is available at www.generationeuro.ie.
The competition is now in its fifth year and consists of three rounds including an online quiz, a group assignment and a presentation by three finalist teams to a panel of senior economists at the Central Bank of Ireland.
The National Winners will represent Ireland at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt next May.
