S.I. No. 6/2022 - European Union (Markets in Financial Instruments) (Amendment) Regulations 2022

S.I. No. 6/2022, the European Union (Markets in Financial Instruments) (Amendment) Regulations 2022, has been published. The majority of its provisions will come into operation on 28 February 2022

The changes that the Regulations will make to MiFID II include reducing the information on costs and charges to be provided to professional investors and eligible counterparties. Paper-based investment information will also be phased out, except for retail clients if they ask to continue to receive it.  In addition, the new rules will allow the bundling of research costs when it comes to research on small and mid-cap issuers.
