The Central Bank has an important voice at a national, European and global level. We are looking for people who are inquisitive thinkers, with fresh perspectives, ready to challenge the status-quo and shape the future of financial regulation. The work we do matters. By pursuing a career with us at Central Bank of Ireland, you will gain an unrivalled breadth of experience and unique exposure to the financial sector.
We supervise multiple industries across the financial services sector through a risk lens. The firms we supervise include large and complex, international and domestic financial institutions, and range from retail and investment banks, to insurance and reinsurance firms, credit unions, e-money and payment institutions, and investment and trading firms.
We analyse and assess both financial and non-financial risks, at the individual firm level but also at a sectoral level, and we are central to identifying interconnected and emerging risks across the financial system. In recent years, this has included the impact of Brexit, COVID-19 and geopolitical issues on the resilience of the financial sector and, ultimately, its ability to continue to serve society.
As risk analysts, advisors, inspectors and data disciples (analysts, engineers, scientists), we have the opportunity to shape the future direction of many important issues. This is more important than ever as there is a continued evolution and internationalisation of the pan-European financial services sector. Issues such as climate change risk, digitalisation and the rise of Fintech, behaviour & culture and emerging risks are at the forefront of our minds.
Through working with us, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across Europe. You will develop an expert understanding and knowledge of financial regulation and risk, as we operate as part of a vast network of national competent authorities in the Eurosystem and globally, working with peers such as the ECB, EBA, EIOPA, ESMA, the IAIS and the IMF.
