Holdings of Irish Long-Term Government Bonds Publication date: 3 February 2023 Key Points: Credit Institutions and the Central Bank account for the largest amount of Irish-resident holdings, at €70.6 billion. This equates to 94.4 per cent of the resident total. The nominal value outstanding of government bonds was €145.4 billion at the end of December 2022. Within the next five years, €45.5 billion of government bonds will mature, of which non-residents hold 30 per cent. Estimated non-resident holdings was €70.6 billion at the end of December.
