Holdings of Irish Long-Term Government Bonds Publication date: 9 February 2022 Key Points: The nominal value outstanding of government bonds was €153 billion at the end of December 2021. Within the next five years, €50 billion of government bonds will mature, of which non-residents hold 46.2 per cent. Estimated non-resident holdings was €75.8 billion at the end of December. Credit Institutions and the Central Bank account for the largest amount of Irish-resident holdings, at €73.2 billion. This equates to 94.7 per cent of the resident total.
