ESMA calls experts to join post-trading panel

ESMA Guidelines and Recommendations

Date: 23 June 2017

On 21 June 2017, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) launched a process to renew the composition of its Consultative Working Group (CWG) of the ESMA Post-Trading Standing Committee (PTSC). ESMA is therefore calling for expressions of interest from stakeholders to become a member of the CWG by 31 July 2017.

The purpose of these groups is to provide informal advice during the course of developing a policy line in relation to specific technical matters, or to give a view on specific aspects of the proposals. These groups are also used as a sounding board for work plans. These members are requested to provide expertise and not advocacy for specific national or institutional positions. Members of the CWG are appointed and participate in their personal capacity. The composition of the CWG is made public through ESMA’s website. Members of the CWG are selected for a renewable term of 2 years.

ESMA’s PTSC undertakes ESMA’s work relating to post-trading, including in relation to the roles of financial market infrastructures and any other entities providing post-trading services. Specifically, the PTSC contributes to fostering supervisory convergence among the national authorities in post-trading matters, by developing guidelines, opinions, Q&As, peer reviews and by determining common supervisory actions.
