Central Bank of Ireland announces theme for the 2026 Innovation Sandbox Programme

On 9 June 2025, Central Bank of Ireland’s inaugural Innovation Sandbox Programme on Combatting Financial Crime culminated with a Showcase event at our Dockland Campus. The sandbox programme fostered collaboration to solve industry problems, improved regulatory clarity, and gave consumers the benefit of solutions that are better designed, better tested, and more aligned with public interest outcomes.

At the Showcase event, the Central Bank announced that the theme for the 2026 Sandbox Programme will be “Innovation in Payments”, with further details scheduled for later this year.
