Civil Society Roundtable

Central Bank of Ireland’s Civil Society Roundtable aims to strengthen engagement between the Central Bank and Irish society, ensuring the financial system serves everyone.
The roundtable is a forum for dialogue between Central Bank leadership and representatives from a broad range of civil society organisations, community and voluntary groups, and consumer-focused organisations. Chaired by the Governor of the Central Bank, the roundtable provides a platform to hear about the challenges and opportunities experienced by people living in Ireland with respect to the Central Bank’s mandate i.e. keeping the financial system stable and working in the best interests of consumers and the economy.
The roundtable follows the Chatham House Rule to encourage open discussion, with roundtable summaries made available on this webpage.
Membership
Roundtable membership is made up of national organisations who work across areas such as social justice, housing and homelessness, human and legal rights, rural issues, workers’ rights (trade unions) and the rights of older people. Attendance is based on the organisation, but participation can be passed to another representative. Membership is reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.
